Privacy policy
Munshi runs restaurants' orders, staff and accounts. This page explains what information that involves, what we do with it, and how to ask us to delete it.
Who we are

Information we handle
Munshi handles three kinds of information:
- Restaurants that use Munshi. The owner's name, phone number and email; the business name and branches; and the records the restaurant keeps in Munshi, such as menus, orders, stock, purchases, expenses, supplier and customer balances, and staff attendance and pay.
- People who order from those restaurants. When you order through a restaurant that uses Munshi, we handle your name, phone number, delivery addresses, order history and any feedback you leave. The restaurant decides what it collects and how it uses it; we process it on the restaurant's behalf.
- Visitors to this website. This site does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP address and browser type, for security.
How we use it
- To provide the service: taking and tracking orders, printing tickets and bills, and keeping each restaurant's records.
- To confirm your phone number when you sign in, by sending you a one-time code.
- To send you messages about an order you placed, such as its status.
- To send restaurant owners the alerts and summaries they have switched on.
- To give support, keep the service secure, and bill restaurants for their subscription.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
WhatsApp and SMS
To confirm a phone number, we send a one-time code through the WhatsApp Business Platform, operated by Meta, or by SMS. This means your phone number and the message pass through that provider. We only send messages connected to a sign-in or an order you asked for, and never marketing messages without your permission.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run Munshi, and share only what each one needs:
- Railway: hosting and database.
- Cloudinary: storing images such as menu photos and logos.
- Resend: sending emails.
- Meta (WhatsApp Business Platform): sending verification codes and order messages.
Each restaurant's data is kept separate from every other restaurant's, and inside a restaurant, staff see only what their role allows. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
Where it is stored
Our service providers store data on their servers, which may be outside Pakistan. Connections to Munshi are encrypted, and staff PINs are stored hashed, never as plain text.
How long we keep it
We keep a restaurant's records for as long as its account is active, so its history and reports stay complete. Images and usage logs are deleted automatically after a set retention period. When a restaurant closes its account, we delete its data within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep it longer.
Seeing, correcting or deleting your data
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. To do so, message us on WhatsApp at +92 301 9155698 or email umersagheer0075@gmail.com from the phone number or email linked to your account, and tell us which restaurant you ordered from.
We will confirm your request and complete it within 30 days. A restaurant may need to keep the money side of past orders for its accounts; in that case, we remove your name, phone number and addresses from those records.
Children
Munshi is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will tell restaurant owners before it takes effect.
